Feeling depressed about a drug, alcohol or other
life-controlling habit?

Tried to 'go it alone' - and failed?

Do you live near Buxton, Derbyshire?

Can we help?

For many people, getting off alcohol and other drugs is not the hardest part of overcoming an addiction. Staying off and living alcohol and drug free is. There are many reasons for this; one is having to face the pain you’ve been trying to escape from. This pain may have been caused by abuse suffered as a child, abandonment, the loss of a loved one or a failed relationship. These are not easy issues to face at the best of times, but they are that much harder when combined with the additional problem of recovering from dependency on alcohol or drugs.

No matter what the reasons were when you first started to use alcohol or drugs, once a pattern of using has been established you may not be able to see any other way of coping.

When you stop using alcohol or drugs, particularly after a long history of substance abuse, you may be swamped by an avalanche of painful emotions. This can be overwhelming for you and your loved ones - especially if you were unprepared for it, don't know what's happening or what to do - or you assume that sobriety is always like this.

No wonder so many people turn back to the bottle or drugs, despite their best intentions.

If these things sound familiar it is a good idea to find support. If you have a life-controlling habit - such as misusing drugs or alcohol - and you would like to get your life back on track - we may be able to help. If you live near Buxton - and feel that you can make a firm commitment to overcoming your dependency - read on!
